I’m a machine learning researcher at Exa, working on ranking models for agentic search. What ties my work together is a slightly obsessive interest in search done right — AI that understands what you actually mean and surfaces the answer, instead of ten links to sift through yourself. Before Exa I built rerankers for Gemini Enterprise at Google.
Outside of work, I really enjoy travelling, reading about psychology and history, and drinking tons of iced coconut lattes. I started writing here to think out loud about search, ranking, and language models — sharing the messy middle, not just polished conclusions.
